Feel free to discuss fantasy football strategy on the blog.
The object of the game is to score as many points as you can during the playoffs, so you should reserve some of the best players for the final weeks of the season. Here are some tips to help you succeed.
Quarterbacks
You can be much more liberal with starting star quarterbacks than other positions. There are only 17 weeks in the season, so you will only start 17 out of 32 NFL quarterbacks.
Running Backs
You will need to start 34 running backs during the course of the season. This position dries up fast, but there is one strategy that works well. Any time that a starting running back is injured, it's a good time to think about starting his backup.
Wide Receivers
This is probably the most difficult position to predict. Make sure to start average receivers when they are up against cupcake pass defenses.
Tight Ends
You get points for receptions, so find guys who can haul in some grabs, even if they don't find the end zone that often.
Kickers
This is somewhat of a crap shoot. You may want to start kickers facing a weak opposing defense since their team should move the ball down the field. However, sometimes it's better to start kickers facing a strong opposing defense because the game turns into a field goal war. Make sure you don't start a kicker in bad weather.
Team Defenses
A good strategy is to start a defense that's up against a rookie QB. There are usually plenty of interceptions and sacks to go around, and you may even get a defensive touchdown.
